Personal Statement:
My approach places emphasis on self-reflection and personal responsibility through compassion and respect. You can’t change what you don’t understand, including your own behavior, thoughts and feelings.
Are you caught in a vicious cycle where your way of coping has taken on a life of its own, making things worse? It’s human to get caught in vicious cycles. It’s also human to need help from someone who comes to know you well and has experience and expertise to guide you towards more constructive ways of being with yourself, others, and situations in your life.
Emotional and mental pain is very troubling and difficult to live with. Feeling continually angry, sad, hurt, depressed, agitated, exhausted, afraid, or caught in destructive patterns without hope is awful. If you can put in the time and effort, change is possible.
I would be happy to talk with you, answer your questions, and let you get a sense of how I work and am with you, in order to see if I would be the right therapist for you.
