Personal Statement:
The process of psychotherapy depends on your needs. With adults, it may be short-term and solution focused or a longer process of exploring experiences, thoughts and feelings. Such exploration can help you better understand the patterns and beliefs that interfere with your satisfaction in life. During this process we might focus on solutions, examine the root cause of problems, or explore the costs and benefits of painful patterns. My role is to provide a safe environment and a professional relationship in which this exploration may occur.
With children, play therapy uses children’s natural use of play to express feelings and fantasies. The goal is to assist the developmental process in a safe environment. Regular communication with parents is an integral part of the process both to ensure understanding of environmental factors and to provide guidance for difficult areas.
