So just what do all those letters after everyone’s name mean?
The following is an explanation of the initials following our therapists’s names that indicate degrees or professional designations. This is to help you understand the qualifications of each of us.
Licensure is granted by professional or governmental bodies based upon academic graduate degrees and other training.
ARNP - Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (can prescribe medication)
CDP - Chemical Dependency Professional
LCP - Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D. required)
LICSW - Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
LMFT - State licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
LMHC - State licensed Mental Health Counselor
MA - Master of Arts (Counseling or Psychology)
MD (Psychiatrist) - Medical Doctor (can prescribe medication)
MSW - Master of Social Work
PhD - Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology
PsyD - Doctor of Psychology
